Mojacar Pueblo
One of the most charming and unspoilt towns in south-eastern Spain. Enjoying the sunniest and warmest climate in the whole of Europe, it is known as ‘El Rincon del Embrujo’ or ‘the corner of enchantment’.
A forty-five minute drive from Almeria airport, Mojacar is an ancient Moorish town graced with a unique charm. Steeped in history, it is situated high up on the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera with stunning views across the Mediterranean coastline. The village is an idyllic mix of sugar-cubed whitewashed buildings, cobbled winding streets and beautiful Moorish architecture. The main square looks across to the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada mountains and is filled with street cafes, bars, boutiques and shops. Take a stroll through the maze of cobbled streets hidden behind the main square and you will find some wonderful restaurants and bars.
A favourite with artists and writers, Mojacar is renowned for its historic surroundings and traditional Spanish way of life. The ancient Moorish fortress and Arabic architecture are protected and development is strictly controlled to prevent the historic charms of Mojacar from being lost.
